I began fishing with my grandfather when I was 7 years old. A love of the countryside and field sports followed. Here are some videos from recent years of both fishing, shooting and life in the Dorset countryside.
Visiting the Rivers Test, Frome and Tweed during the season of 2023.
A season on the River Test at Leckford in 2022.
After a break from visiting the Tweed during the covid pandemic, we were back in Norham in autumn 2021, and a successful trip it was!
During the covid pandemic most sports were put on hold. However fishing was eventually permitted once more, and through the spring and summer of 2020 I managed to get back on the River Test at Leckford and share that with some fishing pals, social distancing of course!
A personal journey through 2020, a hard year for all. In some ways life went on in the countryside much as it did before the pandemic. The animals needed looking after and jobs around our small holding, including building a barn(!) carried on.
My cousin Tim and I used to run a small family shoot in the village of Great Shefford, where I used to live (for 30 years), before moving to Dorset. Eventually we had to close it down due to time and other commitments. This video looks back at the fun we had and perhaps, if one day we start it up again, a reminder of how it all worked.
